Movies and Books that Rock
I love Zombies! Here are a few of my favorites and not so favorite zombie things. Keep checking back because I will post more as I find new zombie things. If you think I’m missing something great on my zombie list let me know and I might add it.
T.V. Series
Dead Set - UK import that just premiered in the U.S. on IFC. They showed the whole series in one night. It starts in the Big Brother house with reality TV stars. They are being annoying and the behind the scenes producers are equally worthy of zombie consumption. Then the zombies show up and carnage ensues.

Try and catch it if you can. You will not be disappointed. - Gore factor is high so if you squeamish don't tune in.
The Walking Dead - AMC show based on the graphic novels. The show is gritty and fast paced. It's like a wild west movie, but with zombies. Let's face it; What can't be made better with a liberal application of Zombies. Watch the show. - Gore factor is high so if you're squeamish don't tune in.

Disappointments - There are a lot more disappointing zombie flicks then there are good ones. There’s a fine line between awesomeness and cheesiness. This is just a small list of the zombie movies I thought would be great, but that didn’t live up to my expectations:

Books (This is not a complete list, it’s just a list of the stuff I like):
Zombies Calling by Faith Erin Hicks (Graphic Novel)
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Tony Lee (Graphic Novel)
Max Brooks Books:
- These books are non-fiction. “True” accounts of the Zombie war. They read like history books or actual survival guides.
- The Story is good, but the graphic novel is in black and white; Not my favorite. I prefer full color. The books are written in the Noir style. Very dark and exciting.
- An extremely cute story about a girl, who dies, then wakes up. She goes to a school for zombies to learn how to blend in with society and not eat people. Did I mention that she is a very short, very perky zombie cheerleader. This is an example of the very elusive and rare Tween Zombie Chic Lit book.
- This is a hard to get series because the author is an English writer who put his stuff for free online. This book will be a movie eventually but until then you can download it online or buy it used from Amazon. The book will be re-released in the U.S. this month. (October 2010).
